Evie & Theo is a tiny storybook workshop that lives in an app for iPhone and iPad. You tell us your story idea — who's in it (kids, friends, pets, or any silly creature you dream up), where it happens, and what they get up to — and our friendly AI gets to work writing and illustrating a one-of-a-kind storybook, made just for you.
Every story is freshly imagined. Tell us about your characters and the things they love, pick a flavor (super silly, big adventure, magical, mystery, superhero, or rhyme time) and one of nine art styles, and in about a minute you'll have a colorful, illustrated tale you can read together, snuggle up with, or keep forever.
Evie & Theo is available now on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later). It's free to download, and your first 3 stories are free; after that, a subscription unlocks unlimited stories (pricing below).

- Share your story idea. A sentence or two is plenty, or tap one of our ideas to start. There are no wrong answers — the sillier, the better!
- Press the magic button. Our AI writes a personalized story and paints an illustration for each scene.
- Read and keep. Read it right away, save it in the app to re-read anytime (even offline), or export it as a PDF (with comfy, print-friendly pages) to print for the bookshelf or send to family.
🎨 About the pictures
Every illustration is painted fresh by AI — and AI illustrators are famously inconsistent, so every so often a character ends up with an extra arm, a wobbly smile, or some other happy surprise. We've found that most of those little mistakes just become part of the entertainment! And whenever you'd like a different take on a picture, just tap the 🔄 button in its corner to draw a new one. (Or, as we developers like to say: it's a feature, not a bug! 😄)
🔒 A note on privacy
We don't keep what you type or the stories we make — books you save live only on your device — and stories are never shared publicly. If a story doesn't turn out quite right and you give it a thumbs-down, you can switch on an option to share that story's specifics so we can take a closer look at exactly what went wrong; leave it off and we'll still get your feedback, simply without those details. - What is Evie & Theo?
- Evie & Theo is an app for iPhone and iPad that turns a story idea into a personalized, illustrated picture book. A grown-up and a child describe an idea together, pick a flavor and an art style, and about a minute later there's an original storybook to read aloud, with a cover, scenes, and full-page illustrations.
- How does it work?
- Describe your story idea in a sentence or two (or tap one of ours), pick a flavor — super silly, big adventure, magical, mystery, superhero, or rhyme time — and choose one of nine art styles. Anthropic's Claude writes the story and the FLUX image model draws the pictures, keeping each character's look the same from page to page. Each story takes about 5–7 minutes to read aloud.

- Evie & Theo is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad. It requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone, or iPadOS 17.0 or later on iPad.
- How much does Evie & Theo cost?
- Evie & Theo is free to download, and your first 3 stories are free. After that, a subscription unlocks unlimited story creation: $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year (US prices). Reading the sample story, re-reading books you've saved, and your 3 free stories never require a subscription. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account, and you can cancel anytime in Settings.
- What ages is it for?
- The stories are written for children, roughly ages 1 to 14 — great for bedtime, car rides, and rainy afternoons. You enter the reader's age, and the words and length are matched to it. A grown-up and a child make the book together, then read it aloud: you can read it to them, or have them read it to you.
- Is Evie & Theo safe and private for kids?
- Evie & Theo is made for a grown-up to use together with a child, not for children to use on their own. There are no accounts, no logins, and no ads, and every story idea gets an automated check to make sure it fits a children's story. We don't keep what you type or the stories we make (unless you choose to share one with us in feedback), and saved books live only on your device. Please use first names or nicknames only, and, as with anything made by AI, glance over a story before reading it aloud. The details are in our Privacy Policy.
- Is there a web version?
- No. Evie & Theo is an app for iPhone and iPad, and stories are made in the app, not on this website. evieandtheo.com is where you can learn about the app, get in touch, and read our privacy policy and terms.
- Can I save, print, or share a story?
- Yes. Books you save in the app can be re-read anytime, even offline. You can also export any book as a PDF to print at home or send to family, and the Coloring Book art style prints as clean black-and-white line art, ready for crayons.

- Every illustration is painted fresh by AI, and AI illustrators are famously inconsistent — every so often a character ends up with an extra arm or a wobbly smile.
